It’s a trap! Well, actually it’s a wrap but who can resist quoting everyone’s favourite fish-faced Mon Calamari – Admiral Ackbar. Yes, that’s correct Sith lords and ladies, excitement is at master Jedi levels over at Show Me The Movies! as someplace somewhere lies a finished version of Rian Johnson’s follow-up to 2015’s THE FORCE AWAKENS. Johnson shared the news via Instagram:

In other force-themed news it seems that Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill, is rather excited about the scale of the new movie and in particular the Casino City of Canto Bight set that appears in the film. Speaking to the official Star Wars website he had the following to say:

‘I was on one set, and I’m not giving anything away because Rian has already talked about a casino sequence. The set, with 150 actors all dressed in prosthetics and puppetry and robots — that set alone could probably easily have financed 100 Brigsby Bears. It was easily one of the most opulent sets I’ve ever been on. I’m fascinated not by just the scenes I’m in. When I had free time I would go and observe all these different actors and all these different scenes. The amount of talent that just is unrecognized… That’s why the credits run for an hour and a half. Because it takes thousands of people to successfully mount an epic of this size.’

Its always good to hear from Hamill and this just makes us long for the movies’ release even more. Luke Skywalker didn’t have much to say in THE FORCE AWAKENS (in fact he had zippety zap to say in it) so colour us intrigued to see how his role pans out in THE LAST JEDI. The film is released on 15th December 2017. MTFBWY!
